Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

They're popular choices now, but they have not been tested among the national electorate, who would most likely reject them.

I also don't have a lot of confidence in Kamala Harris as a convincing alternate to Trump nationally.

Depends on Trump's approval rating in 2020, but I'm quite confident that Mark Zuckerberg wouldn't even beat an extremely unpopular Trump.

I'd say it's unlikely that Clinton, Booker, Cuomo, Chafee, or Gabbard would beat Trump, but if his approval rating is in the 20s, I wouldn't rule it out.

Bob Menendez

I'm sure there are others...

Depending on the economic outlook, whether or not we're at war with NK or Iran, and how the Mueller investigation has played out, it should not be too horribly difficult to defeat Donald Trump in his re-election bid. I do not believe Hillary Clinton could win, nor would Tim Kaine or any other "establishment" face of the national Democratic leadership (Pelosi, etc). Any moderate heroes like Bel Edwards will fall into the same limiting scope as Clinton did in '16 and will be unable to excite the base. Celebrity candidates, as unlikely as they seem, will probably fall short as well.

Biden has the potential, but I can certainly picture a Mondale-esque situation playing out where he is blamed for the faults and inaction of the Obama administration, perhaps risking independents and locking out the under-30s. The bulk of the remaining candidates should do well.

Agreed. Most of the potential Dem field is very overrated at this point. The only person who I think definitely could both win a primary and the general is Biden, and he's going to be pretty old by 2020.

Any candidate could beat Trump, and any candidate could lose to Trump. (sane)

If you doubt this, 99.9% of the world thought Trump was unelectable in 2015. Don't underestimate polarization. Especially with Trump being as unpopular as he is, a flaming pile of dog crap (D) would start out within spitting distance of the 50% mark.

Tulsi.

Sanders, honestly. I think centrists will likely vote anti-Socialist (especially if the economy continues to do as well as it is now) and sink him.

Hillary.

Cory Booker. The left will stay home and even some centrists may distrust him.

Oh, yeah, and Delaney too.
