Eleanor Roosevelt easily wins for best/most well-loved first lady in modern history.
Jackie Kennedy and Abigail Adams were also extraordinarily popular in their time.

Edith "Iron Queen" Wilson and Rosalynn Carter had mixed receptions due to appearing too influential.
Nancy Reagan was disliked for the drug program, attitude toward HIV/AIDS victims, and general pettiness.
Hillary Clinton and Melania Trump are disliked quite a bit today, though it is too soon to tell if that will last.
