Dubya = stopped clock, and you know what they say about stopped clocks.

"Gee, that Hitler fellow was a nasty guy. A real shame about that genocide business... but hey, how about that Autobahn?"

(C)  For the umpteenth time, I'll say this:  Hillary Clinton truly hates Evangelicals, and would use the Presidency to harass them.  Barack Obama, while a social liberal on abortion, SSM, etc, did not have that sort of hatred and vindictiveness toward Evangelicals.  Trump, while not a Godly example of what a Christian should be, has respect for Evangelicals and for the fact that they attempt to be Salt and Light to the World (even if he has no concept as to what that means).  Trump is a friend to Evangelicals.  Hillary is an enemy, and a wolf in sheep's clothing to boot.

Are you kidding? Hillary was more pro-evangelical than either Trump or Obama. Literally her entire political worldview, which defined her whole life, came about due to mentorship by a Methodist minister who taught her social justice. She was in a prayer group with conservative, right-wing Republicans for over a decade despite being in the opposite party and widely hated by them. Hell, even now she's considering being a lay preacher. Neither Trump nor Obama come close to her level of religousity. And what's even more remarkable is that she's kept her faith despite Christianity being associated with the opposite political side she's on. She never let politics get in the way of her faith in God.

YouGov/The Economist: A majority of Democrats now have a favorable opinion of George W. Bush, 51/42.

I really can't wait for the day when Trump is popular enough with Democrats again to be put on Mount Rushmore.

That's the #Resistance for you. Look at how Clinton tried to cozy up to Republicans by distancing the GOP from Trump; she should've tied Trump around the necks of every modern Republican. Now they're dropping to their knees to please suburban "moderates" that never had a problem with Romney's 48% remark, the GOP's total obstruction of Obama, or even Trump's campaign of bigotry and history of sexual assault, but for whom Trump using naughty words as President is just crossing the line.

Sure he stole the election, passed some huge tax cuts we couldn't afford, started a $2 trillion war that created ISIS, got re-elected on demonizing gay marriage, totally screwed up Katrina, and had the worst recession in 80 years, but hey, he criticized Trump because he beat his brother, so he must be good.

Uuuurrrrgggghhhhh who do Democrats have such short memories???

I think it has more to do with an inability to see the world, or people in it, in multiple ways at the same time.

Bush was a poor chief executive many bad to disastrous policies and politics. But he simultaneously does seem to be a fundamentally decent human being, speaking out against what is broadly seen as obvious destructive evil.

It's hard to hold all that as true for some people. And it's even harder to translate it into an answer for a pollster.

The GOP loved Hillary and Bill despite quite quickly despite the vitriol thrown in the 90's and were quite quick to wonder why not her instead Obummer Da' Anti-Christ Kenyan...then she ran.

Mark my words, a Jeb! victory would've kept things in perspective, heck, an Indie Donald Trump might even be a dark horse hopeful spoiler in such a case.

"well we thought he was a fundamentally decent human being!"

Now Democrats are rewriting how they treated Bush LOL. Last year Democrats like Obama were trying to tell us that Romney was a good person they just had policy disagreements with.

Like Stalin and Mao have said - if you erase history did it really happen?

I wish Dubya made as of an effort to disavow those who called his critics terrorists as he's making now to disavow Trump.
