This race is already over. Better move on to 2028.

No. No it isn't. there's 7 years between now and the 2024 election, absolutely no one knows what's going to happen between now and then, who the candidates will be, what the political climate will look like, etc...

The premise of this thread is ridiculous.

While I don't discount the possibility of this candidate winning, I think it is way too premature to say that he is guaranteed to win.

If anyone's got '24 locked up already, it's John Delaney, not Gillespie.

With TX/GA/AZ almost certain to become Titanium D by the 2040s, and MN/VT/IL bound to become Titanium R as a result of 100% of white people in 100% of the country voting R 100% of the time, I'm really interested as to what the 9th Party System of the 2090s will look like.

I'd prefer Delaney over most Democrats

I think it really depends on whether Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana join the Republic of Texas.

We do not know who will win the 2020 election.  Trump has a better chance than anyone else because he is the only one reasonably certain of nomination for either of the two main Parties... and I see him losing already.

I doubt that the quality of the Democratic challenger will matter greatly in 2020 -- but the quality of the incumbent Democratic President will matter greatly in 2024. Those will almost certainly be the same person. Who is it?

The mid-terms will tell us a lot.
