In most of the world women are free to get over the counter birth control.  Women can get it in CA and OR after a screening by a pharmacist, but even that might not be needed as women are smart enough to screen themselves.  OB/GYNs and Physicians in general both support the idea.  cite.

I assume the safety Nazis and those that think everything should be free will be against it, anybody else?

Yes, of course. The main reason why it isn't is because doctors are worried women won't go to their regular checkup, which is ridiculous and also blatant gender discrimination. Most still will get checked up and if not, it's probably because healthcare costs are so absurdly high.

Yes, of course. The main reason why it isn't is because Planned Parenthood lobbies against it to keep bilking Title X and Medicaid referral fee money doctors are worried women won't go to their regular checkup, which is ridiculous and also blatant gender discrimination. Most still will get checked up and if not, it's probably because healthcare costs are so absurdly high.

Yes. Women have a right to access to birth control (as opposed to the faux right of having others pay for your birth control).

2 Republican Senators just introduced legislation to speed up the process and let people use health saving accounts to buy OTC medications.

Ernst and Gardner, interesting. Both up for re-election next year.

Wait, Gardner? Didn’t he push for making contraceptives illegal in his House years? That’s quite the flip-flop from him.

I like the CA/OR compromise - OTC availability after screening with a pharmacist.

If there is rigorous testing by the FDA to ensure the drug’s safety over an appropriate time span, then sure.

Going by actual medical advice you need to be evaluated for it by a doctor to find the kind that works for you as there can be side effects. Does give a danger to just let someone choose one without knowing anything about it.

Absolutely, it helps to not ruin already burdened women's lives and it's a more morally sound alternative to abortion, given no human embryo has begun to form in this situation.

People really believe that meme about Gardner?
