Encke, your spreadsheet has NHI voting for cinyc.  He actually voted for R2.

Just remember to vote for yourself at the same time you vote for Governor next time Tongue. (Voting in two separate posts may have rendered your Senate Vote invalid)

Yeah, I was a tad...influenced...when I voted the first time. Influenced by a particular set of beverages.

Anyway, I figured it was worth the shot.

Iirc Clyde did the same thing in a past election and it wasn't counted as invalid. There aren't any laws against it as far as I'm aware. But it isn't something I'd recommend doing.

If it is invalid, is it just the Senate vote? Or is it the whole vote?

To quote an anonymous source: "In federal elections (pre-reset), it was ruled that a voter could make an additional post to vote for offices not already voted on in his/her previous post.  So if a voter cast a ballot for President but not for Senate, he/she could make a second post for Senate, or vice-versa - even with the "one post per thread" rule governing other behavior.  Assuming all relevant law is posted in the booth, Lincoln law does not prohibit multiple posts in the thread."

But would that precedent carry over after the reset?

It has been carried over in post-reset elections before.

If R2D2's vote is valid, then there would be a tie. Does Lincoln have a procedure for determining ties? The Constitution doesn't say anything, but I was wondering if there has been any legislation passed since then (similar to the Fremont's electoral procedures act).

Unless someone concedes, I would imagine there would be lawsuits and a revote.

Listen I put all that stuff there for a reason I didn’t know about numbers for the candidates so I put X for house candidates I think our great speaker and president both messaged to fix it but the site was down so yes my vote does count

He got hit by the 1:30 Eastern time Forum crash.

I sent him a message notifying him of the problem and warning him not to change it after 20 minutes.

Ironically I was trying to prevent him doing what he ended up doing.

These rules are strict to protect the voters and the election process. It is getting very dicey in terms of posting period during the early morning hours because this forum is based on outdated and crappy technology, and generally I would recommend people try to avoid voting during that time period.

Which is 9 PM Pacific time unfortunately.

I don’t see any Lincoln law on what to do for ties in the proposed legislation thread.

In the absence of any direct rules stating whether R2D2's second vote is valid or not, I assume it will be up to the administrator of the voting booth (kyc) to make that determination.

Also, I'm going to have to update the spreadsheet and map to reflect the fact that Lumine is now advancing to the final round by one vote. I had been tracking the final vote on the assumption that Truman would be in second place.

You are correct - at least initially. And then there will probably be a lawsuit, regardless of which way kyc rules. Since we have no Associate Justice for Lincoln, I assume the whole Atlasian Supreme Court will have to hear it on first instance (as they probably ultimately would, anyway).

Hopefully, someone wins regardless of the questionably cast vote, and it won't come to that.
