English Civil War (1642–1651).

Representative Carpetbagger started this series some time ago, but since he left it at the War of the Roses, I'm taking the liberty of continuing it.

Which one?

1st: Royalist/undecided (Parliament is in the right, but only to a point and going to war is beyond that point)
2nd: Royalist (Don't like the Covenanters, but the army purged Parliament is worse)
3rd: Parliamentarian/undecided (Charles II is fine, but don't support the Scots invading and conquering England for Presbyterianism)

Something similar to the position of Earl of Clarendon, I suppose.

First: Royalist
Second: Parliament
Third: Tilt Parliament

Robert Overton is the closest one I can think of to my views, though Cromwell wasn’t awful.

The king was accused of being Catholic, so him.

I suppose I'll cast my lot with the Roundheads, though I'm not certain I'd have made that choice without hindsight.

I'd have joined the Levellers, or maybe the Diggers.
