Before Las Vegas, it appeared as if he was a guaranteed candidate and was likely to win the Republican nomination. Now he's cancelled a tour that was expected to end with his announcement and he isn't saying anything regarding his political future.

Laxalt strikes me as an intelligent political operator. Most likely, he's sensed the political environment turning against him, which would be especially bad news considering that it was already barely in his favor given Nevada's political lean.

Laxalt is the next Sharron Angle. Combined with a Trump midterm, Sisolak will win by a comfortable margin and the Democrats will finally have their trifecta in Nevada.
