Visit at a long abandoned Jewish cemetary in Brok (Eastern Masovia)






Few tombstones are left and the area isn't being properly maintained, but what's left it's not decaying per se.

The pre-war Jewish community of Brok, where I'm at this moment, numbered around 1,000 people, which was probably at least half of total population. Currently the town has 1,977 residents (out of  2,869 residing in the commune). And I'm absolutely positive there's no single Jew left here (Non-Jewish population of Brok also suffered heavy losses, and the town has been destroyed in 80%). Treblinka Death Camp, where most of them died, is located at the opposite bank of Bug river.

Now all that's left is the cemetery and characteristic houses on the main street (entry directly from the street), that were mostly owned by Jewish shopkeepers.

Went to Pride today. Got a big-ass corndog (alongside chicken and fries, but those were earlier) and a bracelet, held up part of a tent for, like, 10 minutes because it kept falling down, saw Cupcakke in concert, and got lost in the city. Basically your average Saturday night.

A Water Polo team from Aussieland showed up at work. That was pretty cool.

Went to an international food festival in DC, got to enjoy lots of food from many places, but enjoyed Brazilian food the most.

I work as a server/bartender to help pay for school, and I found out today that the restaurant I work at is closing, effective tonight. Sucks, but at least they're letting us come by tomorrow to clear out the pretty sizable liquor closet.

A few weeks ago I came out to someone for the first time in real life. It was my best friend. It went really well and it was also immediately followed by him coming out to me as bisexual. The whole thing really helped my mental state.

Also, my surgery went well and upon further examination it appears likely that I did not have cancer, which is a relief. Still waiting on the final results though.

Sucks to have to choose like that. :/  Hopefully everything works out for you, and you have to do what's best for you sometimes!

Take care of yourself. Do what is necessary, but allow yourself to have some fun from time to time too, make new friends in college, and seek a therapist.
