Think about it. A candidate who was perfect on paper for their respective party, but came no where close to winning the nomination. Or am I just grasping at straws here?

Nope. His only sins [at the time, the whole Reilly Hunter thing was later] were lacking the correct phenotype or genitals.

Bill Richardson was more like Rubio actually.

With Clinton and Obama it was pretty much clear Edwards' chances are very, very slim. Rubio, on the other hand, was long considered to have a serious shot.

John Edwards was more like the John Kasich of 2008 actually.

The difference being that Edwards actually showed up for his job and was a competent speaker and debater. The same cannot be said for Lil' Marco.

No. Edwards had genuine charisma.

I'd say Edwards was a much better speaker; and barring Obama running, he most likely would have had a good shot as the anti-Clinton candidate.

He was like Rubio in that he never appeared comfortable in the Senate, and simply saw it as a springboard but he never had at all as much hype in his first national race (2004) as Rubio did in his (2016)

Yes in that their respective campaigns were both fuelled entirely by identity politics

Rubio is a good man. Edwards has an affair while his wife had cancer. There is no equivalency between the two.

He had a career ending scandal, but still wasn't the joke that Rubio was.
