I'd be strongly in favor of Pan-European electoral lists. Otherwise it's just "well, we have European elections, but it's pretty much all about local political issues anyway."

What would a pan-European electoral list be (I'm not too familiar with the EU electoral process)?

Presumably something wherein the various coalitions agree on a list, like the Knesset in Israel, that is then voted on at large, with each member nominated assigned a spot in the list.

I'm interested to see where this is going, especially with the possible (but most likely not probable) inclusion of the SPD and, I assume, other center-left and center-right parties.

Well, it looks like something like this might happen:

French MEP creates pro-Macron group

It doesn’t look like Macron was the one responsible for this, but the group seems to be made up of parties that he wanted in such a group. The member lest will be presented Monday.
