Even her own party is starting to think about it.

I vote yes, of course

It's kind of ironic that Merkel is regarded as the defender of liberal internationalism, when she is the person most responsible for the rise of right wing nationalism in Europe.

...leading a Red-RedYellow -Green coalition, of course.

Fixed, though I'd prefer a Red-Yellow coalition to be honest. The Greens are useless and the Left is totally devided at the federal level. As long as hardcore leftists have anything so say, they are not capable of governing. Especially on foreign, economic and fiscal policy.

Yes, mainly because I believe that no Chancellor should serve longer than 12 years.

Who the f**k is Alexander Mitsch though?

She never should have been the leader of a supposedly conservative party in the first place.

Although, she has contributed to the success of the AfD, so there's one positive effect she has had.

Only if it's someone not more right wing, at least not on all the issues. Jens Spahn would be okay.

One of the most disastrous leaders of postwar Europe but I doubt her replacement would be all that better
