Alright, y'all, let's get to it.

In what is perhaps the most bizarre and archaic feature of the body of state law we have inherited from the former United States, despite a broad social consensus across party and regional lines that Prohibition and the federal 18th Amendment that brought it into existence was a terrible idea, several counties of our commonwealth to varying degrees prohibit the sale or consumption of alcohol. Still more states allow counties and municipalities to become dry, or enforce blue laws against the sale of "intoxicating beverages" on Sundays. I hope it is not necessary for me to explain why this is a horrible idea.

This bill would repeal all existing dry and blue laws in Fremont and prohibit states and municipalities from passing new ones in the future. Questions?

No questions. These ordinances are absurd.

Very logical bill. People driving to and from "wet" counties from their "dry" home counties to drink at bars creates needless inebriated hours on the road and more dangerous road conditions.

If there is no further debate, I intend to move for a final vote tomorrow afternoon.

Indeed. This is a good measure that removes archaic laws and saves lives. I will vote for it.

This bill passes on a vote of 4-0-2 not voting. It moves to the Prime Minister's desk for further action.
