Honestly, if you haven’t figured that out yet about Trump, I highly doubt something like this will be your point of realization. Trump supporters will simply blame the widow in this situation. Just look at some of the comments (which reflect the slight majority’s opinion on there)  on the FB page of my local news network for this news story...

I agree.  Pence is horrible, yes, but he is less horrible than Trump.

At this point, we just need to preserve the republic.  Pence is a storm we can weather.  It won't be easy, but at least there'd be a country left by the end of it.  There also wouldn't be daily gaffes and blunders in every single aspect of the presidency.  He'd be an embarrassment, but far less than the absolute laughing stock that Trump is to the rest of the world (and to his own country).

I also have serious doubts that Pence would inspire the utter hatred and racism that Trump has brought out to such high levels not seen since Adolf Hitler rose to power in the 1930s.  And as much as I'd like it to be, that statement is not one of hyperbole; Trump isn't Hitler, no (Hitler was smarter and was capable of establishing his f'ed up rule whereas Trump is so far not)--but he is the closest thing to an American Hitler that we've ever had at such a high level in our government.  And the crazies he's brought out of the woodwork with their blind devotion are truly terrifying; like something out of a Stephen King novel.  I don't see Pence gaining blind devotees who'll follow him like groupies to his hate rallies and who'll willingly serve his every cause because he's their "Great Leader."

Exactly. I'm more worried about Pence, Ryan, and McConnell than Trump. Those three are competent evil; Trump is incompetent enough that he can hardly fulfill the GOP agenda and every step he takes receives incredible scrutiny, which helps ensure transparency. He's certainly not our best representative, nor is he necessarily the most stable and trustworthy with the nuclear arsenal but, overall, I still feel more comfortable with a President Trump than a President Pence.

I am impervious to Trump's statements. He's said and done worse things.

I get sick of liberals saying this. It's sort of like why Republicans went along with Trump just to get their stupid tax cut. A standard issue Republican or Democrat would be a vast improvement over Trump. Myeshia Johnson (the widow) told "Good Morning America" (that Congresswoman) Wilson's account of the call was "100% correct."

This means that trump is calling the widow a complete liar about the initial telephone call she and others heard on speaker phone.
trump had previously said that Wilson's account of what was said was completely fabricated.

If trump wants to stick to his initial comment, then he is not only calling Wilson a liar, but he is also saying that to this grieving widow.

If this is not evidence that trump is an assh**e, than I don't know what is.
