The fact that you are comparing Bernie to Feingold shows how little you understand about how U.S. politics work.  What do Bernie and Feingold have in common?  The fact that they're both Jewish?
Feingold lost because he has been out of politics for awhile and not particularly active on major issues, and people felt he wasn't in touch with Wisconsin issues anymore.  Does he even live there?

Almost every single line of this post is wrong. My guess is you just started paying attention to politics a few years ago to support Corbyn and Bernie? The similarities between Feingold and Bernie are obvious. Feingold was the hero of many Bernie supporters back when Bernie was still a backbencher in the House and nobody outside Vermont knew or cared who he was.

Interestingly, Feingold actually outpolled Clinton in most counties, though often not by much. In fact, his overall percentage statewide (46.81) was actually higher than Clinton's (46.45). Clinton outperformed him in the Milwaukee area by a bit, but Trump did far worse than Johnson there. It's pretty clear the Gary Johnson vote was mostly suburban Republicans who stuck with the party downticket.

Feingold's flip-flop on out of state money clearly had some effect.

It's been said by others but needs to be re-emphasised- Feingold did not do worse than Hillary, they got the same share of the vote. Those who voted third party in the national election would likely have gone Trump if forced to make a choice.
