but muh scott brown

Please stop the delusions guys. Accept Moore is inevitable so there won't be Ossoff level meltdowns in December. We need to stay happy for the holidays.

As expected. Still disgusting that a rampant homophobe and racist is about to become a senator.

The GOP establishment should be praying for a Jones upset. Moore will damage the party.

That's the second time Krazen. Just post the damn top line in the thread title so we don't have to click on your thread.

Scottie was leading in nearly all of the polls. Some by double digits.

Massachusetts regularly elects GOP governors.
Alabama does not.
Scott Brown was very moderate.
Doug Jones is not very moderate.
The two are not comparable.
So stop? @atlas

Scott Brown is actually pretty conservative. The only thing that he's liberal on is same-sex marriage, even that seemed inauthentic.

Good news for Moore that he's crossed the 50% mark, though I still think it's Lean R (closer to Likely R than Tossup, though) because "muh special election". A JBE-style Democrat could have done a lot better than Jones here IMO.

Also, Jones still has a lot of time to close that gap, though I'm not sure if he can really do it.

What's the difference between JBE and Jones here?

Like I said, Jones needed Strange if he wanted a chance.

He might be able to pull an Parnell or Thompson though.

Jones is to the left of JBE when it comes to issues such as gun rights and abortion, which is why I have a hard time seeing him close that gap.

Note that Coakley was consistently up 5X/3X until 2 weeks before the election and after the December.  Even if this does turn into a toss up or a Jones lead, I would expect Moore to look safe-ish until after Thanksgiving.

Brown only led in the polls at the very end. Coakley had a 31-point lead two months before the vote and led by between 9% and 17% just weeks before the election. It's stupid to look at polls month away-one poll-and pretend the race is certain.

That's my thought, Alabama is pretty similar demographically to SC-5. I think it'll be closer than expected, but ultimately that's about it.
