Yes, I know it is theoretically possible for one to believe that the perfect number of posters have been sent to the showers, except that the identity of the banees is errant in each and every case, but let's not get bogged down in such annoying little details.

I put this poll up, because I seem to be reading more posts complaining of those who should have been excised, and have not been, as opposed to the mods being ban happy.  Are such malcontents just a small minority, or more representative of the forum?

Sanchez should have been banned before Cora and long before Evergreen.

Is it really necessary to sling screen names around?  That seems an excellent way to start a flame war.

It's very easy to dispose with obvious sock/spam accounts. Every mod can mute such account at sight, following an inevitable axing by Nym or Muon. But the situation is entirely diffrent with established users.

Guys, let's be honest, it's hard to get banned on Atlas... which would be hypocritical for me to criticize due to my past conduct.

My opinion is too few, but I guess trolls aren't exactly breaking any rules as long as they don't spam.

I'm not sure since I haven't been around the past year, but I know if the posters on "The Atlas" forum got their way it would be far, far too many.

I tend to support pretty lax rules. No spamming, threatening, porn, doxxing, etc. Even though I might find the views of many members here deplorable, they clearly represent a very large portion of the American public, and therefore it would make no sense to ban them unless you're just going to rebrand as a liberal/leftist centered forum. And let's be real here: many of the "petition to ban ____" threads are disproportionately targeted at people with unpopular (on this forum) political views, despite them having views which are fairly typical of a vast majority of Republicans/Trump supporters. RINO Tom and Badger are the anomalies, not Santander and krazen.

They could do with putting a few of our fine Trumpists out on the curb. I don't want to seem demanding, but really, what on Earth do Sanchez and ahugecat contribute to the forum?

Sanchez is untouchable because he's my friend, just as Krazen is untouchable because of Torie's love for his contributions to political demographics. Your argument is invalid.

I love how "too few" is leading in the poll. As if this place already doesn't engage in enough circle jerking and groupthink.

And if you're serious about this pathetic line of reasoning, none of you should probably be moderators. If you're not, then there's no good rationale for why krazen has not been banned yet. He was given a tempban for a significant amount of time, decided not to change his behavior whatsoever, yet has been allowed to stay.

Too few. Krazen, ExtremeRepublican, Invisible Obama, and Santander should not be on this site. Also remember that 9 times out of 10, you're only banning them to Atlas After Dark.

He may have ridiculous views on some things but he's more respectful to other posters than most on here.

Agreed.

The list of who should be banned seems to vary a good bit depending on who you ask, so if everyone who people thought should be banned was banned, this forum would start thinning out very quickly.

Especially considering that the list of should-be-banneds typically breaks down to "abrasive people I disagree with". It seems we have lots of aspiring Donald Trumps, who can dish it out but can't take it.

I support comprehensive criminal justice reform on Atlas. We need to move to a process whereby a certain amount(say, eight) of people can lead to a serious debate as to whether or not someone should be banned, to be seriously discussed by moderators every six months as long as the amount doesn’t go below, say, eight. A semi-jury system would be pretty good.

You’re discussing two different things. Sanchez is a vet at this point. Mr. Cat means nothing.

Too many, but I also think that most of the site is unreadable on account of low-quality posting.

It would be helpful if there were  better features to follow the best posters and mute the negative marginal utility cases.

You mean the Cave's acting quickly to mute these "marginal utility cases", or having an improved "ignore" function, without showing quoted posts?
