500 years. Without the bold work of Luther and the Reformers, Christianity would be nothing like it is today. No liberal theology. No hipster megachurches. The Bible, forever guarded from the eyes of the peasantry. All 37 million Christian churches that exist today, under the authority of a single, elderly male volcel in Rome.
Or not. Because if not Martin Luther, someone else would have come along and done basically the same thing.
In any case, I know we have at least two Lutherans or Lutheran congregants on this board (BRTD and TDAS04) and plenty of Calvinists as well.
How are our Lutheran/Reformed posters observing today? Is your church actively "celebrating" it? Are you skipping church to get into the Halloween spirit? Or is today just an ordinary day for you?
