In 1960, Robert F. Kennedy and G. Mennen Williams prevent John from offering Johnson the Vice Presidency, instead convincing him to go with Truman ally Stuart Symington. JFK is assassinated, as in our timeline, and Symington names Williams as his running-mate. Goldwater wins the Republican nomination, and he nominates Norris Cotton instead of Henry Cabot Lodge Jr., Walter Judd, or Charles Halleck, who are all instead promised top Cabinet positions.

You guys don’t think NH, VT, KS, NE, ND, and SD would flip at least? And what would be the effects as to what happened after the election?

I don't think Symington was any less electable than Johnson so I'm sure the result would have been about the same. Afterwards I don't know what would happen after 1964.
