Demographics is destiny. It's the major reason why Democrats want to give citizenship to illegal aliens: doing so will add millions of voters to the party.
This is true. Most republicans try to simply ignore this issue for fear of being called racist, but if the GOP got the same percentage of the vote by race that Reagan did in his landslide victories, they'd barely scrape a win anymore. Despite GOP pundits calling every single group except for the one that actual gives them 80-90% of their votes "natural conservatives," the white vote has trended republican and that's what keeps things competitive nationally. The question is whether that can continue to be the case if demographics flip Arizona, Georgia, and Texas.

Recent immigrants don't assimilate well, tend to come from poorer countries, and want socialism in this great country. They are natural Democrats. Citizenship to illegals is a non-starter, and we need to cut down on legal immigration by prioritizing those who are educated and skilled.

Before I get called a xenophobic Nazi by liberals, I'm a minority and the son of legal immigrants.

Other than Cubans (and maybe Venezuelans and older Vietnamese) who have had a very bad experience with socialism, major immigrant groups, legal and illegal, support the left by a wide margin. I would like to see net immigration cut as drastically as possible. I also think enacting official English legislation would help. Making English literacy a prerequisite to citizenship would encourage assimilation and ultimately help immigrants themselves succeed in America. I remember one poll showed that Trump performed fairly well with Hispanics who spoke English exclusively while losing those who spoke both or just Spanish at home by huge margins.

Plenty of immigrants support the right — Trump, who was cast as anti-Hispanic, got 29% of the Hispanic vote. 17% of black men voted for Gillespie — in a bad GOP year! It’s just a matter of convincing folks to vote for you. Persuasion is destiny.

All Hispanics are not immigrants.

I am also sure the vast majority of black men voting in Virginia are not immigrants. By your standard Gillespie won strong with immigrants since white men voted for him 63-36.

For all we know, he did. Blacks are the most Democratic demographic. Immigrants are probably even more Republican.
