http://theweek.com/speedreads/736112/democratic-congressman-promises-house-vote-trump-impeachment-before-christmas

For those who are not aware, under house rules, Impeachment can be brought up as a privileged resolution, which requires that the Speaker hold an immediate floor debate and vote on the resolution.

Update: http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/362558-house-dem-pledges-vote-to-impeach-trump-next-week

This is so f**king stupid. If this happens (which I don't think it will), all it'll do is spark a round of recriminations when the Democratic caucus splits while the GOP one stays united.

Pushing an impeachment resolution before the conclusion of Mueller's investigation makes it look blatantly political and hurts the case of any similar resolution in the future.

Absolutely.
Let Mueller finish his investigation. Stop with all the stupid distractions (on both sides).
Let the man finish ! He is doing everything in a professional manner, we don't need "clownish" acts mudding things up.

What, is he trying to help Bill Maher win his bet with Ephsteyn?

No other reason to do this and unnecessarily politicize an investigation.

Agree. Jumping the gun will only let Republicans conflate an impeachment attempt of Trump after genuine crimes are revealed with the bogus one earlier. Be patient and let Mueller finish his job.

Oh Joy.

Where would you set the spread at for the number of yes votes it gets? 50? Or fewer?
