Lucky them!!! Hopefully we will join someday.
And this does nothing for the USA except cost us thousands of jobs.
And give us new markets to trade in. And make goods more affordable for American citizens. And give a huge boost to American farmers. And, perhaps most important to keeping America influential on the world stage, it keeps China in check.

The American manufacturing industry is dying off and has been since the '70's. It's not coming back. The benefits of the TPP vastly outweigh the negative aspects, and turning inward and shouting "America First!" will only harm out country and the world as a whole.

US manufacturing is thriving. We are still the second largest exporter, with manufactured goods like airplanes, cars, pharmaceuticals .. and, yes, refined oil .. being the biggest components, not agricultural goods.

The refrain that "US manufacturing is dying" sounds more like a rationale to justify outsourcing by under-investment in both plant technology and workforce skills. For many decades, that was exactly the case, but with lower energy costs and rising wages in China that doesn't have to be the case.
