In addition to being a really good dude, Doug's also a really good campaigner.

yeah I'd rather Jones stand by his convictions. a Pro-life Democrat could easily lose as well considering conservative GOPers will just find some other reason not to vote for Jones.
Prosecuting the surviving church bombers.

That’s a horrible thing to say.

There might be enough of those crazy people (KKK members and supporters) who will vote for Moore. In a sane electorate, voters would vote for Jones by a wide margin, who prosecuted the surviving UKA KKK members in Birmingham.

You’re right with this, but you answered the statement that conservatives would find reasons to vote for Moore with prosecuting the church bombers. “Conservative GOPers are a lot greater in number than “KKK members and supporters”

This is an excellent ad, I get the sense that Jones really knows what he's doing.

Maybe I'm different from most Alabama voters but that ad doesn't seem too great to me. Everyone already knows about Moore's scandal, and I wouldn't think undecided / unsure voters particularly care about what the Washington establishment has to say about Moore. I feel as if Jones needs to sell himself to these voters.

Seems like a basic permission ad, although stronger because of all the conservatives/other people  that have come out against Moore. The point of it is to tell voters that it's "ok" to vote for Jones because many of their leaders are ok with it.

I don't really know if it'll make a difference either way, but the election is close enough where I think it could potentially have an effect before wearing off.

"Permission ads" can be powerful. Remember that this ad, and others like it, did wonders for Hogan:

Washington Establishment? The ad cites Shelby and Sessions, for f**k's sake.

I mean, if we're being realistic, Shelby and Sessions are as establishment as it gets. Together they have, what, 50 years of being in the Senate? High committee posts? Both used to be Democrats, even, Shelby even switched while in office!

but of course "establishment" is a stupid term you can re-purpose at any time for your own deeds, so...

Alabama law doesn't require that. There's a "paid for by Doug Jones for Senate. Approved by Doug Jones." line at the bottom of the final few frames.

Also what a weird thing to focus on.

Does Trump's base actually like Ivanka or care what she thinks? Serious question.

Diehard Trumpists practically worship the whole family. Ivanka's two cents are bound to change at least a few minds, especially with The Donald himself keeping his mouth shut.

In any case, I'm getting McCaskill vibes from the Jones campaign. Let Moore try to slink off, then give him both barrels in the last few weeks.

Nice sig.

Listen I am starting to think that Moore is recovering and will win 2-5 point victory.
I also think the stuff about him is fake news because the yearbook person says she started working st the restaurant when she was 15 but other coworkers say that’s not true because you have to be 16 and she said the trash cans were on the back of the building they were on the side. She said that it would close at 10PM coworkers said that it was 12AM.

All candidates running for federal office have to do it.

Online ads are different but it has to be said for TV ads is my understanding. So this may be an online only ad and not for TV.

There's no indication that this race has moved in either direction since the last batch of polls. Anything you "feel" is just that, feelings, and are not rooted in reality.
