I will never to this day why Doug Jones insisted on being pro-choice in what is possibly the state most hostile towards abortion in the country.
I don't think that's why he loses though. It will only be a 2% difference in the end. The real reason why Jones will lose is tribal partisanship. A lot of republican leaning people like Doug Jones and dislike Roy Moore... but they want to send someone who is conservative to the white house.
It'd be different if this was a governor race. But it isn't. I don't think Jon Bel Edwards would win a senate seat in Louisana vs Vitter.
Alabama is so anti-abortion that a statewide ballot initiative to ban abortion failed. Nobody actually cares about Abortion. It's a phoney issue dregged up by child banging fundamentalists who guilt trip voters into thinking they have to vote against it. But truth is, most people don't actually care about Abortion as a political or cultural issue. The left wing equivalent of this is LGBT rights. Most on the left say they are for LGBT rights but couldn't care less to do anything about it in real life. Same goes for stuff like black lives matter....I don't see throngs of liberals descending upon ghettoes to volunteer

I think the abortion issue was a huge mistake on Jones part, he was a rookie candidate and he gave Moore and the GOP something to exploit. Cobb and Maddox have won in AL and they wouldn't have made the same mistake, they know how to message on social issues.
Alabama doesn't care about abortion. Alabama had more liberal abortion laws than 80% of other states before Roe V Wade. Jones could of been anti abortion and it wouldn't of made any difference. The abortion issue is just used as an excuse to vote against Democrats

I'm waiting any day now for the cops to bust down his door for possession of child pornography and for him to still refuse to drop out while getting booked at the county jail.
FAKE POLICE!! FAKE CHARGES !! RIGGED SYSTEM!!
Doug Jones put those there man....I swear!
No, it was (((Soros))).
Soros, Jones, Pelosi I tell ya....they all conspired against me! Probably would hold up under Court of law in AL too

Republicans find it easier to sell out their soul a second time having already done it for Trump.
Trump has freed up Republicans to act in accordance to their true character No surprise the Evangelical grifters see his presidency as one last chance to cop a dollar from the gullible masses. He's their me$$iah
