From what I gather, the South was mostly settled by Cavaliers, the indentured servants of the Cavaliers, and the Scotch-Irish. Which of these do "bible belt Evangelicals" tend to be descended from? Perhaps a combination of all three?

Depends where. Appalachia is disproportionately Scotts-Irish. Lowland areas are different.

Yeah in Appalachia they'd mainly be of Scots-Irish descent and in the Lowlands mainly of English descent (descendants of Cavaliers and their servants)
