The Democratic Senate caucus will force him to.

Yes, because he’s now threatening a pickup opportunity.

^^^

At worst, he just won't run for reelection in 2020. He's done past that point. He should resign now.

If he truly cares about sexual assault and the Democratic party, he would resign to show principle and to show how morally bankrupt the GOP is.

This gives Dems a chance to go the "moral high road." Schumer should give him the talk today. MN should be a likely Dem seat, esp. in the current environment.

This.

He needs to be pushed out. I'm sorry that this one mistake will cost him his political career but this is what has to happen.

He should, but it seems as if the Ethics committee is probably going to go with "censure" at this point rather than force 1/3 of Senators to quit in the next 6 months.

I'm almost certain he will resign, and soon.  The pressure by his fellow Minnesota politicians will be immense.  As a state, this kind of thing is not an if question, but when.  And immediately with humble apologies is the fastest way to rebuilding the public trust.

I have little faith he will judging by his comments and the fact only Gillibrand was willing to say something

Claire McCaskill (@clairecmc)
Re Al Franken: I’m shocked and concerned. The behavior described is completely unacceptable. Comedy is no excuse for inappropriate conduct, and I believe there should be an ethics investigation.

Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer)
Sexual harassment is never acceptable and must not be tolerated.

I hope and expect that the Ethics Committee will fully investigate this troubling incident, as they should with any credible allegation of sexual harassment.

I hope he does resign, but I'm guessing he doesn't. I think he'll try to weather the storm for the next couple years and then retire in 2020.

I doubt he'll retire. The fact that he hasn't already speaks volumes, but he's probably hoping people just blow this off as a "mistake" and won't uncover other disgusting actions like what Sam Spade had said years ago.

If we can take just one thing from the Moore s**tshow, it's that these allegations always, always get worse.

Franken needs to go immediately.
