To bring the topic back to Dan Lipinski, he murdered 50,000,000 gays. Both sides do it.
How did he murder 50,000,000 gays?

Anyone who does not get the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign is a contributor to anti-LGBT causes. Brad Schneider and Tammy Duckworth are fellow Illinoisans who are also guilty of this badge of shame.

The only reason HRC endorsed Kirk over Duckworth was to appear less partisan by endorsing a relatively LGBT Republican. Duckworth wasn’t anti-LGBT rights at all, so their endorsement of Kirk was strange, to say the least.

Can someone explain to me why Dan Lipinski is so bad?
Pro-life and anti-LGBT Democrat in a safe urban/suburban seat.

Lipinski is one of Mike Madigan’s strongest allies. Didn’t know before, but that just makes me dislike him even more.

That Emily's List endorsement is the most unshocking endorsement they have given so far in this election cycle. Why didn't they endorse Newman before?

Emily’s List never endorses a challenger against an incumbent Democrat. They don’t want to make enemies within the establishment, but I guess they’re anticipating that Lipinski won’t be a Congressman come next year.

Newman can win this primary. No doubt about it.
Is it possible for Lipinski to replicate what Joe Lieberman did in 2006?

I don’t think any Congressman is well-known enough to win as a third party candidate.

I would support that. We need better access to abortions, especially in Republican states that try to limit access.

Last week, Newman got $400,000 in support from a Super PAC in the form of television ads, Lipinski got $40,000

The tidbit most of interest in that article is the revelation that he's going to be meeting with pretty much every politically important labor union in America. Between that and his blatant admission that he's thinking about running again, I really have no idea how some people doubt he's entering the 2020 race.

If he does endorse Newman, it would be pretty funny is the only Bernie-backed primary challenger to successfully win versus an incumbent beat one of the few Congresspeople who actually supported him in 2016.

Anyway, I'm keeping my hopes up and there are certainly signs that Lipinski's time is running out (e.g. his sudden collapse in institutional support from the CTU, etc.), but I do believe that he's the favorite in this race until proven otherwise.

Lipinski backed Bernie? Huh Shocked

He said he would back whoever won his district and Bernie ended up winning his district.

The DCCC has declined to endorse Lipinski for re-election over Marie Newman. They’re feeding him to the wolves.

As much as I dislike Lipinski, he surely could've won the seat on his own without being given it.

He was a professor from Tennessee, I doubt it.

Lipinski is a political dinosaur that never evolved on his social views since he first got elected 12 years ago. We can do much better in this district.

There are stil 2 more weeks left of campaigning, and only Newman has room to grow. I think Lipinski is a goner.

Crosstabs. Newman leads amongst whites and 45-64 category, Lipinski leads in rest.

She invested in a business and withdrew once she found out about the guy’s dubious background. Nothing but a desperate smear by Lipinski and his crew.

Yeah, I think Gillibrand's endorsement legitimized Newman as a candidate.

We live to fight another day. Donna Edwards ran a spirited campaign against the incumbent in 2006 and barely lost, but she ran again in 2008 and wiped the floor with the incumbent. Let’s hope Marie Newman follows the same projectory into Congress in 2020.

The issue wasn't that Newman was pro-life. He machine barely eked it out for Lipinski.

Yeah, Lipinski got a net 4K votes from the city of Chicago, 4x his winning margin. He can thank Madigan for the 2 year extension on his congressional shelftime.
