Mostly this too. The 1953 Iranian Coup for example. It destroyed a perfectly capable modernizing nation into a United States Puppet State which led to the instability in the country we see today.

I can't say I'm a fan. Eisenhower's middle east policy damaged many countries for decades, or even still to this day.

But other aspects of it were clearly good, but it's not enough, imo, to balance out the middle east failures.
