don't worry though, her office got a $140M raise this year (probably what the 2.5% increase in tuition was for) and 2 underlings were fired so I'm sure there isn't a bigger problem.

The thing that's most galling is that Napolitano stays, while those who did the dirty work at her direction are forced to resign, in order to not be fired.  (Firing is "discipline", is it not?)

Lying and covering up illegal stuff is an "error in judgement" only to a person with no morals or ethics.

My sister-in-law was not a fan of hers when she went to UCSC and said a lot of people also disliked her.

I can't believe that ordinary folks in California, including ordinary liberal Democratic folks, would be happy contemplating the thought of the boss staying while those doing the dirty work quit before they were fired.

Ordinary folks are in these situations every day.  Not to the level of this, maybe, but ordinary folks are often put in positions where they are pressured to fudge for the boss in some way.  Some avoid complying, some willingly comply, some rebel, some quit, and some enthusiastically partner with the boss.  The last option probably describes best the two that bailed before being fired, so my sympathy for them is limited.  They're the Haldeman and Ehrlichman of this deal.

Still, Nixon took the fall.  Napolitano should be gone by sundown of whatever day folks read this post.

The UC System seems to have been having a lot of issues the past few years. Before this, there was Linda Katehi's incompetent, kleptocratic administration of UC-Davis.

It's a shame Napolitano has been such an unrelentingly terrible federal politician, because she was great for Arizona (especially when compared with her successor, ye gods and little fishies).

Yep, on both counts
