Currently, the US Congress interior looks like this:

Germany's Bundestag looks like this:

Austria's Nationalrat like this (currently, because of renovation works in the parliament building - and after 2020 it will look like Germany's):

What do you think ?

Do you prefer to preserve the old building with the old interior or something new ?

I really like the look of the Bundestag, but I agree that there's no need for expensive renovations unless absolutely necessary.

Really ?

You spent like a trillion $$$ in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere and you call the renovation of the Congress Interior "expensive" ?

When did I say I supported spending money there, either?

That's not what I said ... just more in general.

No it’s classic 19th century interior that should never be changed.

No, unless there are serious issues with it or we're expanding it.

Not until America behaves like a modern country like Germany or Austria. Right now, it would be a misrepresentation... the 19th century is more fitting.

I see nothing wrong with it. And if and when it does get renovated, it should stay much the way it is now.  It has a certain historical charm to it I don’t want to lose.

This, though technological modernizations would be fine.

A little modernization maybe, but please don't become like the German Bundestag. The chamber, especially the blue seats, are ugly as hell. I always liked the chamber of the Illinois House and Senate. (Images: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Illinois_State_Capitol_interior?uselang=en)

I think the House is fine as it is, although I do like the look of the Bundestag as well.

It's the Senate chamber that should be completely redone. It's just an awful look and design. I think it should go back to what the Old Senate Chamber looked like, which was very red as most upper houses tend to be.
