Hillary decides to run again and somehow wins the nomination. What does the general election look like?

I don't see Clinton being able to pull it off against an incumbent Trump.

If Trump doesn't get more popular by 2020, then I think Clinton does better than this. I'd at least give her New Mexico, Virginia, and Maine At-Large. However I agree she'd have little chance of actually winning the election.

Can people really sit through Trump vs Clinton Part 2? It would be unbearable.

Clinton probably will lose but don’t be over dramatic.

Even the establishment democrats want the Clintons gone now. If she somehow made it through a brutal primary to be the nominee again in 2020, it would only further their image as corrupt and out of touch. Trump would (barring a betrayal of his voters on immigration or a new war) win easily, probably adding MN, NH, and ME.

I will go against the grain and say Clinton would do better, even if she might not win. Her biggest disadvantages in campaign '16 would be in question:

1. The Comey Letter. While another Clinton run would surely re-dredge up all the investigations against Clinton again, there's no guarantee that the next FBI director would suddenly announce that she is under criminal investigation 11 days before the election. You have no idea how damaging that was to Clinton. And even if it did happen, it would be the Trump FBI so they would have less credibility.

2. Democratic overconfidence. The next time, the Democrats would not be so overconfident, as shown by the replies on this thread. This was one of the biggest handicaps faced by Clinton in campaign '16. Had she thought she was going to lose, she would have changed her strategy and campaigned in places like Wisconsin more. Besides, Americans like underdogs, even Hillary (see: New Hampshire '08). Simply flipping this one factor alone might win her the election.
