It won't mean a damn thing, because these people refuse to take the training for new jobs. They want coal or nothing at all.

What??!?! That's complete bull and reveals a total lack of understanding of West Virginians. Are you really going to buy in to the whole "culture of poverty" bs?

FYI. There was a recent article that was posted to this forum, that indicated that WV's were refusing to train for new jobs.

As tempting as it is to believe that, I think the majority of West Virginians will take another job over nothing if a coal job is unavailable. Are there West Virginians who would rather be unemployed than work for an industry other than coal? I'm sure there is, but I don't think it's a big number.

Maybe this will make the anti-China rhetoric not as effective.

Wow, I support the President’s decision to turn WV into a Chinese vassal state. Look out for Mandarin-speaking hicks in 10-20 years.

I'd settle for a good shrimp and lobster sauce in WV.

Flippant remarks and excessive hyperbole aside, it’s good that China will have an economic and cultural impact on WV. Foreign investment is one of the few ways to bring rehabilitation here, since American industries have little to no financial incentive to open/relocate business to this severely depressed region of the country.
