well not kaine again, maybe another bad pick like castro?
she might gain her wits and pick someone from the sanders wing.
otherwise she'd probably lose again

Probably Sherrod Brown if all the stars are aligned to have a Democrat in position to take his seat.

There is no way Hillary will get the nomination if she runs.  I was a devoted Hillary fan and there is no way I would risk a second term of Trump.

Two options:

Either somebody popular from the Rust Belt, Sherrod Brown obviously. Or a Sun Belt strategy by trying to win Florida, Arizona and Georgia. Julian or Jacquin Castro. I think the latter is more likely so far.

But it will fortunately never happen.

*If* the Dems win both the Senate and gubernatorial races in Ohio next year, then I think Sherrod Brown is the frontrunner to be the VP pick for any plausible female Democratic presidential nominee in 2020.  He probably would have been picked last year if a Democrat had been governor of Ohio, thus insuring that his Senate seat would remain in Democratic hands.

I wonder if Sherrod will remain a possible VP candidate if he loses his Senate race as might be expected.

Of course he wouldn't still be in the running for VP if he loses reelection.  That's why I said *if* the Dems win both Senate and Gov. races in Ohio next year, then Brown is the favorite for VP.

Someone from the Sanders wing of the party, although person of color might help too if not immediately drawing from that wing.

And what if he wins his senatorial race while Mary Taylor wins the gubernatorial race?

Then he's in the same position as he was in 2016: Will probably get on the VP short list, but not that likely to be picked.

Is there a famous black Democrat from the Sanders wing (other than Kanye West)?

Worse than Dukesis and Mcgovern? Trump ran a bad campaign  too. Just was,t as bad as Hillary. Any Other Democrat should of easily beaten trump easily. It takes lot of work to lose to someone like trump.

To be fair, she ran a better campaign than George McGovern
 or Alf Landon...

She ran a meh campaign. If it wasn't for Comey she would have won and everybody would hail it as the most brilliant campaign ever.

Tim Ryan might check the most boxes. He's young, comes from the rust belt, and has picked the right fights with the establishment. It would help him if Democrats take back the House, and he has some accomplishments as a prominent member of the majority party.
