No, because I will be the most right wing participant out of about 7 feasters. So there will not be much to "confront" about, and I try to avoid toxic conversations about politics like the plague. If someone wants to indulge in "mistaken" beliefs that are within the terms of the TOS as it were, that is fine with me in general.

I'm planning on arguing over people on here about texarkana's signature and arguing with people on reddit about how the Cowboys and Dak Prescott suck.

Im technically one of the most liberal member of my extended family so I doubt it.
Me too.

I feel like this is the part of the movie where I severely question your life choices, and we engage in a song-and-dance battle about conformity.

?

I mean, my family members all still approve of Trump, which I don't (it's a small gathering this year, but with other close family members who I won't be seeing this year, I think they still like him), and as Mr. Reactionary said, I'm probably the most liberal of the family members.

When it comes to party politics, though, we're all Republicans (and I usually don't broadcast that I dislike Trump now).

Thankfully didn't come up. My dad hates Trump way more than I do, and my grandfather loves him, so it's best that politics doesn't come up whenever they're within a football field of each other.

No, I have some strong anti-Trumpists mixed in with people who love him so no political talk would end well.

My parents voted for Trump and are evangelicals.
My sister and her husband are union Democrats.
Here I am stuck in the middle saying, "well, no, that's wrong.  He admitted to dating high school girls when he was in his 30s.....no, I know it's not illegal, but what the hell does that have to do with whether it's ok or not?  Are only things that are illegal wrong?  Would you want a 35 year old dating your 15 year old daughter?  There ya go.  It doesn't matter anyway, the voters of Alabama will decide......stop laughing sis, what programs should the state of IL cease doing to pay for your ridiculous pension?....oh yeah?...you think that will be enough?  I don't either, what else?  Don't get mad 'cause your wrong.  These pensions are going to kill people, yeah, I know you were promised, I know you think you sacrificed higher pay checks for these future promises, but did you really?  The people that agreed to the pensions knew they'd be long gone when the ducks came back, so they didn't care about future promises, they just needed you to get back to teaching, those tax payers 30 years from then will have plenty of extra money to give you....except the 30 years are up, the pensioners are wanting their money and there is no money to give out, it's got to come from somewhere.  Sure, maybe raising the taxes on the rich some more will fix the problem.  I think it won't and will just make more money leave the state, but you can keep trying that if you want."

I avoid arguments like the plague. It’s kind of hard sometimes, since all my relatives know me as the politics whiz kid for whatever reason, but I manage.

My uncle sent us a link to an article about Thanksgiving and genocide. I replied, asking if there were any Frantz Fanon fans in the groupchat.

No, most of my family is conservative like me, with the exception of my mother, but she and I have hashed it out so many times over the years that it's never something that would boil over and ruin a Thanksgiving dinner.

No, though the people at my Thanksgiving meal are all liberals (not that we would necessarily exclude people for politics alone).

This thread really belongs in the Individual Politics or Forum Community boards, BTW.

I didn’t think liberal uncles are allowed.

He’s sort of, let’s say, “beyond” liberal.

Possibly. I try to avoid it getting heated but my brother-in-law is a big fan of Trump and a general conspiracy-theory nut. When he gets going it is hard to just ignore the nonsense.
