A democratic ticket without a female on it would be a terrible decision and likely depress turnout when females have been pivotal in the elections since 2016.  And don't tell me "I don't care about gender; I just want the two best candidates for the job" and then suggest such a weak ticket like this (no-name Senator who hasn't been able to build a national profile and a no-job Democrat who only has his national profile going for him).  Especially when the Democratic bench has a plethora of strong, capable and talented females all in contention.

Martin Heinrich could be a good candidate in theory, but he lacks charisma and he isn't really ideologically solid. I remember seeing statistics about how he was the Democrat that introduced the least bills in the Senate. No one really knows where he stands on most issues. Is he an hardcore progressive or a moderate hero? What does he believe in? No one knows. He's so bland.

Would actually be in favor of this if Heinrich wasn't a cosponsor of Medicare for All. Make it Kander/Heinrich and I'd vote for it though. Either would be fine running mates for Klobuchar/M. Obama/C. Kennedy.

Huh, that improves my opinion of Heinrich considerably, however criticism that he's a bland candidate is still quite valid.

Oh yeah. I keep forgetting that providing universal healthcare is socialist, communist, anti-American, etc.

Talk about blah candidates with minimal national name recognition. A good fit for "generic democrat" candidates who could beat Trump if we assume they have no scandals, but unlikely to win in a democrat primary against more compelling, well known, and/or well funded candidates like Biden, Sanders, Warren, Harris, or Gilibrand.

I def think Kander is a future president but he'd only be 39, give him some time to grow and gain some experience.

Kander is irrelevant.

Love them both. But I'd rather Kander run for Senate in 2018(against McCaskill) or 2022.

This. A second-rate cabinet post is the only thing I see him by 2021 if a Dem wins.

Your wrong, Kander would be excellent. He would unite the party's progressive and moderate wings, which is what we need! He made  a senate race in Missouri very competitive losing by only 3 points, while Hillary lost by double digits. He has a clear progressive message but is also a veteran, which would make him very respected. And please spare me the "I'm tired of white men being nominated for anything".(BTW, he would be the first JEWISH president) I think he might need more experience before stepping into the position of POTUS, but as a candidate he would be stellar.

Remove Heinrich from the ticket. Kander/Kander. There, that's all you need.

Has any other nobody lost an election and been elevated to potential presidential/vice presidential candidate like Kander? Or is he forging his own path here? Dude is a former one-term Secretary of State of Missouri and has literally done nothing else.

About 1/4 of Atlas has a weird love of Kander. I would've pushed for him to run for Prez or be a VP pick if he had won a senate seat. If you're going to campaign as a politician (though arguably just running makes you a politician), it helps to have a résumé to back it up.

Are we still pretending voters care about experience? Look at the orangutan in the White House, lol.
