Likely/Safe D ——> Likely/Safe D with some other Democrat.

I always envied your optimism. Safe D in, essentially, swing district? I am laughing heartily....

No, Safe D in a D+2 district, in an increasing-blue Nevada, in a Trump midterm.

D+2 is, essentially, swing district. Increasingly blue? In long-term perspective - yes, but we speak about 2018. What remains? Trump midterm? No one forces Republicans to nominate open Trumpist.

You say that as if it matters. Any Republican running in a swingy district next year will be absolutely bludgeoned with the Trump card, full-stop, and Nevadans roundly loathe him up and down the state.

One more optimist. We will see Nov. 6th.

FWIW people saying that this is okay, should wonder how they'd feel as a guy, if your boss kept asking you out, put his hand on your thigh etc.

I don't understand why people can't see the difference between going up to someone in a bar, or a club, and flirting with them, and someone inappropriately touching someone at work, who you know is already in a relationship

If you A.) Say you know it's dodgy to date someone B.) Know they're in a relationship, you're probably doing something wrong. Campaign staffers tend to be poorly paid (if they are paid) and reliant on a relatively small clique of people to get later employment.

Unless Reid backs another woman for the district, my tentative endorsement is with Amy Vilela.

If it was Ruben Kihuen, it would make my day. If it was Joe Barton, not so much.

Susie Lee finished 3rd in the 2016 primary, behind Kihuen and Flores, but she's running in Jacky Rosen's seat now (with Reid's backing, iirc). I wonder who Reid will endorse in this race.

Obama won this seat by 10. Clinton won it by 5. How is this tilt R?

One young Las Vegas politician I like is Yvanna Cancela, but I think she probably lives in Titus's district and might run there when Titus retires. Plus she was appointed to the state senate so she hasn't even won an election yet.

I'd call NV-04 Lean D at this juncture. Would have been Likely D if Kihuen had kept his hands to himself.

Cancela was appointed to fill Kihuen's Senate seat, though.

Right, but Kihuen was technically a carpetbagger to NV-04, I think.

I think he meant Tilt R if Kihuen fights the claims, runs for reelection, and somehow wins renomination.

Lean D if a special is held, I only say Lean because you never, never know, and there's always some specials that buck the national trend.

I guess that's why Reid picked Rosen?

If it wasn't Rosen it would've been Titus.

Titus is in NV-1, not NV-4.

It's time for Kihuen to resign. It's sad that this is happening to someone whose election I supported, but particularly in this time of war against Moore, any democrat accused of sexual harassment must resign immediately.

Ralston: Kihuen's done once Reid lowers the boom, party committees would choose special nominees. Horsford-Hardy rematch if they want it. Both considering but Horsford's happy in the private sector. Cancela also has a job and law school to consider, Chris G probably wouldn't drop down. Special would have to be held within 6 months, would be a tossup. Dems want to wait till the June primary.

Don’t see how the GOP could win this seat in a special election.

NV-04 is consistently more Democratic than the state of NV. It hard to see how Republican win this seat in a Trump midterm. The Democrat over performance in the past special election suggest that Democrats will improve their margin even more than 2016. Lean D at the least.

The only thing that gives the GOP a chance is that minority turnout usually drops here during midterms (which is what got Hardy elected in the first place), but in this environment, and given how strong the Reid Machine is in making sure another 2014 never happens again, I can't see it happening. Sad

Kihuen says he won't resign and that Pelosi/DCCC knew about the allegations last year.

Wow. ABC article has Kihuen saying that Pelosi and the DCCC knew about the allegations during his campaign, but still funded him. Shades of Mark Foley 2006, very explosive allegation against the Democratic leadership.

Well damn. He's just gonna throw the Democratic Party under the bus with him? Not good for Democrats. The GOP may be now the party that supports Roy Moore and Donald Trump, but that isn't going to matter if they can just go "muh Franken" "muh Conyers" "muh Kihuen" and get all the "both-sides-do-it" moderate heroes to not care.

Dem leaders deny it, FWIW. Only Reid can end this.

Adamant denials from all parties he accused though, so I seriously doubt that's true. If there was a DCCC internal investigation like he claims then there would be a paperwork trail somewhere, and if that was the case there wouldn't have been the absolute adamant denials from Pelosi, the Nevada Democratic party, and the DCCC. Sounds like Kihuen is so desperate he's resorted to lying.

"muh Franken" "muh Conyers" "muh Kihuen"

only 2 of them actually have reputable accusations.

There are plenty of other reasons to dislike Roy Moore and Donald Trump.
