I think it’s strange and not for me, but I don’t care, if you want to date multiple people go ahead.

I'm sure this isn't surprising to anyone, but I'm all for this.

I'm still not 100% convinced that BRTD isn't a parody.

And I could say the same about this article.  This sounds exactly like a longer version of something that the Babylon Bee would post to satirize progressive Christianity.

Polyamorous Christianity is like saying that you're playing Basketball, when you're really playing Baseball, but you're wearing Basketball jerseys so that somehow makes the sport you're playing still count as Basketball.

I'm still not 100% convinced that BRTD isn't a parody.

I should clarify that I am NOT polyamorous. My girlfriend is, but I am monogamous to her.

That's not going to end well.

Dating more than one person to "test the waters" is fine, as long as it's just for a short period of time and there is nothing serious between any of the parties involved. Much more beyond that is obvious degeneracy.

Why would you ever agree to such an arrangement? Some kind of fetish thing?

Could be some variation on a cuckold fetish, which is fun.

She was already in a relationship when I met her and I didn't want to disrupt that.

Well, this is in the religion & Philosophy forum for a reason.  And the Christian position has generally been understood as condemning polyamory.

Also, until recently I thought that a cuckoldry fetish was something the alt-right made up.

More or less this (I have mixed feelings about the first part, I lean disapprove, but it's kind of a grey area; the second sentence states the obvious).

No, real Christians are not rethinking monogamy. That means they are not Christian if they engage out of wedlock.

OK polyamory is NOT cuckoldry.

Cuckoldry is a sexual fetish where one enjoys seeing their partner have sex with other people. A polyamorous relationship rarely has anything like that. Only if it's a "triad" where all parties involved are with each other (obviously basically requires all involved of one gender to be bisexual), and even that's quite different.

Let's get back to the subject at hand.

From the article itself:

This sums up the entire article.  The culture is becoming more secular and hostile to Christianity, so the answer is to abandon Christian teachings.

If you don't want to at least try to abide by the teachings of your faith, then why not leave that faith rather than try to change it into something it isn't? So, most of these folks married young and came to regret not exploring their sexual options more; polyamory is apparently their solution, rather than search within their faith for guidance on how to deal with what is obviously (from a Christian perspective) sinful behavior.

Polyamory and Christianity don't mix; simple as that. And, honestly, polyamory isn't a good idea - unless you enjoy unstable relationships, broken families, and unnecessary heartache in exchange for temporary, selfish pleasure.

As a Christian, I can say that I'm not rethinking this. I'm going to marry one woman, and dedicate myself to loving one woman. It's wrong to do otherwise, and an all around bad idea to attempt otherwise.

gross and horrible.

At one point I was in a polyamorous relationship with two women, and it was the most unnatural thing and I hated it tbh.

I'm not the kind of person to tell others that their sexuality is immoral, but having experienced this I can tell you it is.
