STATE OF THE RACE:SEPTEMBER 1947
NEW YORK TIMES

A big shake up happened this month with Robert Taft dropping out of the race who was spouse to be the Republican front runner for next years elections.  The race was going to be between Walt Disney and
However Congressman Vito Maniscalo has shockingly decided to drop out of the race.
As of now the only Republican in the race now is Walt Disney however he hasn’t not been made nominee yet.

Meanwhile in the Democratic race it is still a heated race between General Eisenhower and Sec of State George Marshall with Marshall still in a tight lead with Norman Thomas trying to hang on
Also going on is the independent bid of former Vice President Henry Wallace which has been picking up steam and could end up being a big factor in this election.

Polling:
Democrats:
Marshall:44%
Enishower:40%
Thomas:29%

Walt Disney campaign summary for September 1947

When he woke up on September 1st and learned the news that his two opponents had dropped out, he reportedly said "Boys, this is the biggest chance to expand on the lead for a National primary in the history of forever. Let's not waste it!" and he would follow that up by campaigning in a specific region and focusing on two issues per regions for a week or two.

September 1st-September 14th would see Walt campaign in the Northeastern states such as New York, PA, and New Hampshire on Foreign Policy and Education policy.

September 15th-September 22nd Walt would campaign in the Midwest on Economic Reform and Foreign Policy

September 23rd-September 30th Walt would campaign on the west coast on Agriculture, Education, Foreign Policy, and Economic reform.
