The Atlanta metro? I don't have county by county percentages, but statewide it was 48.98% to 45.85%.

It would seem to be so competetive solely because of Fulton County only being D>50%, since Gwinnett is only R>40% and Clayton is only R>50%.

This is what Alabama would've looked like in 1968 if George Wallace and Hubert Humphrey's positions in the National Popular Vote were switched - with Wallace getting 42.7% as the official Democratic nominee and Humphrey getting 13.5% as a left-wing third party. Not surprisingly, Wallace wins by an absurd margin, getting slightly over 95% of the vote. Oddly, he manages to get less than 90% in 17 counties despite getting 95.06% statewide. of course, in almost all of these he gets 85-89%, with only 5 counties giving him less than 80%. his weakest county is of course Macon, which he wins with 54.6% of the vote.

Macon, which gave Jeff Sessions less than 90% of the vote, when he was running unopposed in 2014.

That looks good aesthetically, could you do one for Thurmond in SC, or is there any county data for that?

I don't really have easy access to data prior to 1960, but I will surely make many more Solid South county maps because they look really cool.

The 2076 Presidential Election
President Eliza Castile (R) defeats Former Vice President Madison Barnes by a towering margin in the electoral college and popular vote.

Is there any reasoning behind the results or are they mostly random?

I have a lot of reasoning behind these results. Basically, for every county I took wealth and education indicators, demographics, local factors, and climate change, and used that to figure out results. Republicans win among non-black voters, well educated voters, and northern voters.

What explains Kentucky being so Democratic here then?

Could you do 1968 if Wallace and Humphrey's votes were combined? Or Wallace and Nixon for that matter.

This election seems like deja vu, being a repeat of the election of 1976 from a century earlier, but with a strong Republican victory. Did you base this off the Cordray realignment timeline?

Yes, and Kentucky is strongly democratic because the democratic candidate was the former governor of that state.

I see. What would the electoral map look like? And have you created a basic outline of U.S. political history from the end of the Cordray timeline through 2076?

Castile wins big, and if you want to follow the timeline you should look at America the Phoenix, by The Walrus and Spenstar.

Do you have the link to the timeline?

Is this a slightly altered 2016?

Nope

If you look closely, you should be able to see that there are some Counties that are flipped in both directions from the 2016 results.

This only combines Clinton and Perot, so other third parties remain the same.
