Now the Republicans will hire some random bimbos to falsely accuse Cory Booker, Joe Biden, and any other male Presidential candidate to ruin their chances at the Presidency.

There was a photograph. I wouldn't have been so set on him stepping down without a full investigation if there wasn't tangible proof.

Biden's very-real women-touching habit will almost certainly be his downfall in 2020, IMO.

And so will be Bernie's essays about women enjoying being raped.

Agreed. That's why I can't jump on the hype train that many of my peers have in regards to him.

Okay, now an we please stop with the hypocritical dems argument. Conyers and Franken (after some time) resigned, so when is Trump going to resign and Moore drop out of his Senate race? The only hypocrites here are Republicans.

I'm sorry to offend people but Al franken was one of my favorite senators and he was one of the few democrats Who could of beaten trump due to his Pop culture and Political experience, the republicans knew this and that's why they sent tweeden (who worked for a conservative talk radio station) after him. I still don't get why feminists can't see that these fake political acussation take away from the real abuse women face in the workplace.

Eh, does this not apply to all seats? What other ways are their for a senator to leave the seat?

Retirement, but yeah, it's not particularly remarkable.

I deleted the message because I realized that retirement was also a possibility.

Ok, maybe this is a stupid question, but has anyone asked Swanson if she wants to be appointed in the senate?
Maybe she is only interested in running for governor for her own good reasons (she wants to be an executive-not a legislator, she doesn't want to move out from Minnesota, etc.).

If Swanson was going to run for Governor she would've declared already. All candidates did months ago and caucuses start in two months.

Dayton is not a confrontational or power grabbing type. Him wanting the seat to basically have a clean slate nomination and not be responsible for who gets it long term doesn't surprise me.

Apparently some conservative commentators are complaining that Dems only made Franken resign because they wanted the "moral high ground", as if that's a bad thing. Like "Oh man, those Dems did the right thing! They got us again!"

As opposed to...? I've always had this funny feeling that retirements from the Senate aren't as common as they seem to be.

Spoken like a party that doesn't even see the point of trying to appear moral anymore.

If you're talking about people like Ben Shapiro, they're saying that the Democrats did do it for political moral high ground, but that it's still the correct choice and the Republicans to follow.

They're not complaining. If anything, they're complaining about the Republicans.

Al Franken -

"There is some irony that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party."

Pu**y Grabber & Moore should both go !

I wanted Walter Mondale as a placeholder. Appointing him to the Coleman's seat would be awesome.
