Yes/Yes.

In my middle school, probably 90% of the students had been the bully and the victim at some point. It was pretty rare to be solely a bully or solely a victim.

Bullied pretty heavily from about 5th grade to end of sophomore year of high school.

In the real world I'm not so bad, usually keep to myself and my little zoo. I'm mostly sassy on the internet.

Yeah. A lot of the time, perpetual bullying victims would even start bullying someone else to get the target off themselves, lol.

Some proto-alt righters bullied me because I liked black girls, but this wasn't a major issue for me as I just ignored them. Also I was bullied a little bit for being short and having an allegedly "girly" voice.

Yes/no.

I was definitely teased quite a bit throughout (but to varying frequency) K-12 for being awkward or different, but I know plenty of kids had it much worse.  Sixth grade and to an extent 7th were especially bad, but 8th grade was better (though still very far from perfect).

I didn’t have many friends and there were plenty of reasons to pick on me, but maybe I wasn’t bullied as much as I could have been.  There were times such as 8th grade and others that were kind of fun and many classmates seemed to like me.  Maybe they thought I was a nice guy or something.  Also, they sometimes figured out that I was smart, especially if we played a quiz game in Social Studies.

I was "bullied" up to about 7th grade.  I didn't share the interests of most of the boys on the playground (sports) so I was just the quiet kid who wandered around to various groups very curious about what they were doing/playing... some of them were welcoming, others not.  I didn't actually make any real friends at school until like 4th grade (though I had friends outside of school and on the school bus).

Then in high school I made lots of friends and didn't get bullied.

My sister and I talked recently about how we both kinda had 2 groups of friends... the "popular" friends and then the friends that most of the popular kids made fun of (usually for being very poor or something like that).  By the time high school came around these groups melded together into this weird amalgam that transcended the cliques.

I was bullied in 4th grade, that's it, never before, never afterwards. And no I wasn't a bully.

Yes/No (I'm no angel, but I wouldn't say I was a bully)

I was one of those people that was friends with both the popular kids and the unpopular kids. I learned (at least where I lived) at some point that I pretty much had to choose one or the other. It just wasn't working. I couldn't invite all my friends to the same parties or hangouts because they would bicker and make everything unfun. So I picked the unpopular crowd because I liked them better and I guess I felt kinda protective of them and resentful that I had to choose. When I did that the bullying definitely ramped up.

This, turns out severe learning disabilities in the '90's does no favors. Then it was being the sibling of the class punching bag. Then it was being religious in a fundie leftist atheist college town, exacerbated by Prop. 8.

No, that would be "attempted violence by a moderator".

like the sexual assault question, it greatly depends on how one defines things.  "often"...probably not, but I was on both sides of it on multiple occasions growing up.  Like most people I assume.
