I would agree, but obviously this is never happening.

Strategically a good move. Rightfully tarring the GOP as the party of sexists and pedophiles will not win elections all on it's own, but it is a sound strategy.

Given Al Franken, and the predators in California Legislature, Sanders's argument is clever, but invalid.

This really is "both sides do it" scenario.

Oh yeah, so what about the rape fantasy essays you wrote in your thirties, and protecting rapists by voting against Amber Bill.

Asshole.

An article about rape fantasies is not itself a rape fantasy, but I guess you can't comprehend that.

An article about rape fantasies is not itself a rape fantasy, but I guess you can't comprehend that.

It's also not just a rape fantasy short story (and it's certainly not advocating for it). As NPR wrote, it "eventually gets at a sharper point — that traditional gender roles help create troubling dynamics in men's and women's sex lives."

There's a reason why the essay wasn't an issue in the race and why the Clinton campaign never weaponized it: it's just an essay.

I'd hardly think writing rape fantasy erotica is on the same level as actually sexually assaulting multiple women then bragging about it.

This thread is terrible. Sanders is absolutely right here.

Given Al Franken, and the predators in California Legislature, Sanders's argument is clever, but invalid.

This really is "both sides do it" scenario.

Someone suggests a Democratic pervert should resign: "But what about the Republicans who do that!?"

You just can't win. Sanders has called for Al Franken to resign BTW. I don't know who "the predators in the California legislature" are but I don't see why Sanders needs to comment on them.

I say let the voters take care of all of this.

I would say that sexual harassment settlements paid out on behalf of elected officials should be publicly disclosed.  I say this with the caveat that such a policy can, inadvertently, lead folks (including media parasites) to uncover the names of the complainants and give them more publicity than they would ever wish.
