Note the surprisingly strong opposition in the North Coast.

I guess California Hispanics aren't big fans of weed.

I guess California Hispanics aren't big fans of weed.

Middle aged and older hispanics are pretty anti-drug anything. Mainly because religion and/OR their kids and grandkids smoking weed and feeling it has negative impact on their behavior.  Marijuana usage is pretty high and its obviously higher amongst lower income demographics which usually tend to be black/hispanics considering the sh**tty type of jobs they are working in, which makes marijuana like escapism.

I think it's amazing how even in the most opposed counties in the state, they barely crossed 56%. Even the most conservative counties in the state voted yes or barely voted no. Support for legalization was strong and broad across the state. Opposition was very limited.

I thought it's worth mentioning, but Prop 64 does hold the current record for highest support for legalization. Of course, I hope that record is beat many times.

Yep. The Emerald Triangle liked things the way they were, thank you very much.
