I've locked the last thread because I sure as hell won't be merging dozens of dozens of single posts.

Have multiple scenarios put in one post, unless it's an actual effortpost on one election. Otherwise it's a spam, putting strains on the server.

Australian Capital Territory general election, 1989

Labor - 5 (±)
Liberal - 3 (-1)
No Self Government - 2 (-1)
Residents Rally - 2 (-2)
Abolish Self-Government - 1 (±)
Fair Elections - 1 (+1)
John Haslem - 1 (+1)
ACT Community - 1 (+1)

With Residents Rally being cut in half I have no idea whatsoever. Probably starts off as a Labor government, though there is a good chance that they swap with the Liberals just like in real life.
In short; I don't know, though probably Labor leading

The winner would depend on which way Gerry Wood, the Independent, would go. Unfortunately NT politics isn't my strong suit so, unlike in previous years where but a cursory glance would tell you that the Independents would overwhelmingly support the CLP, as most where CLP renegades who would still support them when the chips where down.
In short, it's Gerry Wood's decision.

The winner depends on which way the National Party and the Democrats went. Cowan, the leader of the National Party, had publicly stated that he would support a Labor minority Government if they were the largest party. Meanwhile the Democrats never said which of the two they'd support, though given their founder, Don Chipp was a disaffected Liberal I would slightly lean towards saying the Liberals. The National Country went into the election in a Coalition with the Liberals so it's clear what they'd of done.
Long story short; Labor has 26, Liberal-National Country has 27, it all depends on the Democrats and the renegade National Party.

Again, include more than one scenario in a post, please. If you can't type it at once, save text in text editor or something.

The winner depends on which way Gair takes Queensland Labor. Gair did try to get the Country Party to support him after the split, which was only refused when the Fadden, the federal leader, pointed out the obvious to Nicklin, that with Labor split in half with FPTP there was a very good chance he'd be premier.
To summarise, the winner depends on which way Gair takes Queensland Labor.

Depends entirely on which way the Liberals break. You'd certainly see a good few Liberals defecting to the National Party, following Joh's order, however I can't see 10/12 defecting. Unfortunately, even though it was quite recent and I have fairly good knowledge of the Bjelke-Petersen era without an upper house the question of which way the Libs would go was never asked. A good chunk of the National's campaign was focused on taking Liberal voters by arguing that if the Nats didn't get a majority then the alternative was the Libs propping up a Labor government.
In short, it's Terry White's decision, and god only knows what he'd do.

Both of these may have been done in the old thread but I can't be bothered to wade through pages of Australian elections to look for it.  However; here are the two "wrong winner" elections in post-war UK history.

UK General Election, 1951

Labour: 306 (+11) - 48.8%
Conservative + Allies*: 301 (-20) - 48.0%
Liberal: 16 (+10) - 2.5%
Independent Nationalists: 2 (+-) - 0.3%
Irish Labour: 0 (-1) - 0.1%

Labour short of a majority by seven seats

*I elected to group the Conservatives, National Liberals and Ulster Unionists together for this for one main reason.  The latter because pre-1974 they basically were the Conservative party in Northern Ireland so calculating them separately would be stupid (and also Wikipedia groups them with the Tories for that reason and I didn't want to look up another source).  The National Liberals were basically the same as the Tories from... when they were created really never having a policy separate from the National Government (in 1945, that effectively meant the Conservative policies), they merged with the Conservative Party at the constituency level and after then the "National Liberal" brand (or other similar things, including the incredibly confusing "Liberal and Conservative" label used by some candidates effectively became something used by Conservative Party candidates in places where the Liberal brand meant something.  On that note: Labour includes candidates of the Northern Irish Labour Party.

I mean this is a bit academic since the Liberals only contested roughly 100 seats in 1951, hence why their vote share is so artificially low.  Its your perfect Liberals holding the balance situation and who knows what direction they'd go in: I'd think probably with the Tories considering their rhetoric on the Labour party throughout the fifties although that majority with the Tories is really very tight and might make some votes a squeeze if there was ever any rebellions against the whip from either party.  The Nationalists funnily enough manage to retain the exact same number of seats (and at this time were basically abstentionist MPs in that they showed up to debate or vote very, very rarely so don't really factor into the calculations) but the only other third party, the Irish Labour Party (who are very much separate from the UK Labour Party in terms of calculating this), fail to get a seat: although they must get pretty close.

UK General Election, February 1974

Conservative: 244 (-53) - 37.9%
Labour: 240 (-61) - 37.2%
Liberal: 124 (+110) - 19.3%
SNP: 13 (+6) - 2.0%
UUP (UUUC): 4 (-3) - 0.8%
Plaid Cymru: 3 (+1) - 0.5%
SDLP: 3 (+2) - 0.5%
Pro-Assembly Unionists: 1 (+1) - 0.3%
National Front: 1 (+1) - 0.2%
Vanguard (UUUC): 1 (-2) - 0.2%
DUP (UUUC): 1 (+-) - 0.2%

Independent Labour: 0 (-1)
Democratic Labour: 0 (-1)

Conservatives short of a majority by 74 seats

The numbers might be slightly different if I grouped the UUUC parties together as might be appropriate considering the context of this election: although all three parties in the thing got seats so probably not.  Wouldn't change the overall pattern though: in that its a clear situation where the party of the centre has the balance of power and can go where they wish.  My hunch is that they'd meet with Heath and the Tories first since they both were the incumbent government and got the votes votes (and logically seats) - although a Lib-Lab pact would certainly be possible.  Likely to be pretty stable though; doing some quick mental maths rough majorities of 60 with both major parties would likely last a full term, unless they fell out.

Very interesting with the minor parties though: the SNP get more seats than they ever got IRL pre-2015 and the huge size of the Liberals would make some kind of devolution almost a certainty; Plaid end up with three which seems to be around where they always end up in actual elections (in this one they got two and came very close is Carmarthen, losing by three votes to Labour); and the National Front squeak one, although again the fact that they were the only third party to stand a decent number of candidates (54, only the 44 of the Communists were close) may be the cause of that.  They get there mostly because of some pretty significant votes in some seats, mostly in London, where migration and the question of race began to become significant political issues, this also being before they were outright revealed to be a neo-nazi party.

Northern Ireland loses two MPs and the balance better represents the position in NI of the time (and gives representation to pro-power sharing Unionists which would have been very useful around that time) although the position there is skewed by the fact that there were lots of pacts in that election - you had the Loyalist UUUC pact and there seemed to be unofficial deals between the three main powersharing parties (the SDLP, Pro-Assembly Unionists and the Alliance who aren't mentioned here because they only stood three candidates) to not contest against each other in cases where a pro-Power Sharing candidate might win.  Would probably have been the best result for nationalists in NI history though - if only because the SDLP stood candidates province-wide and not just in safe Nationalist seats.

I'll admit I don't know much of the context of this, and even less about all those long forgotten mini-parties that sneak into the Duma. However this is probably the best case of a threshold having a huge effect on the ensuing election. It was 5%, which led to almost half of the vote being discounted (although there were constituency seats).

I assume the Communists could cobble something together with their future Populist Bloc. Any people with a good knowledge of Russian politics here?

If the EU parliament was somehow elected by pure popular vote. Rough estimate:

European Parliament election, 2014

Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (Martin Schulz): 183 (24.37%, -1)

European People's Party (Jean Claude Juncker): 176 (23.40%, -46)
Others and independents (no candidate): 154 (20.48%, +45)*
Greens-European Free Alliance (Ska Keller): 55 (7.31%, +7)
Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (Guy Verhofstadt): 53 (7.06%, -2)
Europe of Freedom and Democracy (no candidate): 49 (6.56%, +11)
European Unitary Left/Nordic Green Left (Alexis Tsipras): 42 (5.6%, -5)
European Conservatives and Reformists (no candidate): 39 (5.22%, -9)

* This is a nominal figure, most independents either later split up to join the Europe of Nations and Freedom group (FN, PVV, etc), or joined other existing groups (Podemos joined GUE/NGL, ANO joined ALDE, etc).

Not many changes other than EPP sinking (so Schulz would head the commission) and independents going up by a lot! Also, funnily, ECR goes from being the 3rd strongest party to the weakest one!

Likeliest coalition would be S&D+EPP+ALDE, just like now

As for candidates for parties without one, EFD would certainly nominate Nigel Farage. ECR rejected the proces even more harshly so I guess they would still refuse. Independents obviously can't have a common candidate, but Marine Le Pen or Geert Wilders would probably come the closest.

Wow, these results are so much fairer! If only there would be a country that did this in reality.
