Can anyone honesty see the video of Joe Biden and Meghan Mccain and not think this man would of blown Trump out of the water? Not to mention how aggressive he would of been during the debates. Im not the biggest fan of Biden but his authenticity is above most politicians.

He'd probably have won in a landslide and would likely win a landslide in 2020 if nominated.

He would certainly win now that Trump has proven himself to be an incompetent fool but I’m not so sure about 2016. I can still see enough third party defections due to Biden’s problematic past that looks harsh under the magnifying glass of 2016. There would have been an air of “inevitablity” about Biden that keeps Dems home. If Hillary couldn’t get out the black vote I don’t see why he could and sure he had more credibility with rust belt voters but Trump could still play up the notion that Biden was a swamp creature.

I’ll give Biden Pennsylvania and maybe Michigan. But he loses New Hampshire. Nevada is questionable too— Hillary is for some reason popular with Hispanics where Spanish is their primary language. There may have been some votes lost there.

I think any other Democrat could of beaten Trump. If Hillary faced any other Repubican she would been defeated handily. I think Biden holds on to the blue wall plus Florida.

If Trump is the Republican nominee in 2020, I know several of my moderate-conservative Republican friends and associates would vote for Uncle Joe in a heartbeat--just to cleanse the stench that Trump has created in just 10 months

My father is a two time Obama voter turned Trumpist, but he says he wished Biden would have run and would vote for him. Biden is very popular in eastern PA, so much so that when he was chosen in 2008 some people in the media were saying he had sort of a home state advantage here.

I see some "if Hillary couldn't have won in 2016, no Democrat could" revisionism here and it's somewhat comforting, but still dangerously self-deluding nonsense. Had Hillary herself ran a slightly better campaign, make slightfly less mistakes, she would've won.

As of Biden, I think he'd make stronger candidate mainly because he wouldn't have taken the Rust Belt for granted and is someone blue collar voters could identify with. I certainly don't see him losing PA of all states. Invoking 1988/2008 doesn't make sense, since he was an incumbent VP by 2016. I can show you dozens of examples of former losers that managed to rebound.

That being said, 2016 was his last chance, both due to his advanced age (for which reason I don't think Sanders should have another try as well) and the fact we're living in a post-Weinstein times (Anita Hill).

Eh, probably but this also reminds me of how Clinton was up 20+ in the polls and how many on Atlas felt she would bring back the white working class into the fold with her "strong woman" persona. It's also how Giuliani had a massive lead when he was known as NYC's mayor during 9/11. It's easy for someone like Biden to put up impressive numbers when he is nut running for any sort of office and can pick and choose his media moments like this. As soon as he would have announced both republicans and his democratic opponents would have started attacking him on his history of plagiarism, his tendency to make damaging statements, questions regarding his intellect, and stories of general creepiness. It's easy to seem a strong candidate when you're not being attacked, that's why he didn't run in 2016 and probably won't run in 2020

Atlas never seems to understand the simple fact that it's easy to be popular when you're not being attacked.

Which is also largely why Bernie Sanders is so "popular".
