Mother - very disturbing look at a husbands' inability to tell guests they have outstayed their welcome.

Patriots Day - very disturbing look inside the events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing.

Obviously, a bit of Hollywood was added, but i enjoyed it.

Daddy’s Home 2. A million times better than Black Panther.

Dude, just admit your racism and we can all move on.

LOL. Incredible. Any evidence to back that up, or is it just because of my negative opinion on a movie that happens to have black actors? Screw off. I liked Space Jam.

Daddy's Home 2 has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 19%. Black Panther has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 97%.

Also, Space Jam is just strange, and it proves Michael Jordan can't act. They'd have been better off bringing in an actor, like Will Smith, to play Micheal Jordan, and having Jordan be a producer if they wanted to make the movie at all.

"Call Me By Your Name". Pretty good, and I was surprised to see older folks, some of them religious, coming into the cinema to watch a movie about homosexuals. The acting and the plot were nice, some of the shots were gorgeous, but oh god who uses fade-in and fade-out transitions so much.

The Darkest Hour - highly recommended look at the unpopular politics of WWII in Britain.

Also a good watch simultaneously - Dunkirk - just no escape from German gunfire from start to finish. Incredible cinematography.

I saw that yesterday.  I had mixed feelings about it; I didn't know quite what to make of the relationship and the way the parents responded to it. it was quite beautiful and affecting in parts though at a few points it dragged on a bit.   I loved the soundtrack though esp with Sufjan.

I agree that the relationship seemed a bit odd at the start, because of the age difference. I thought that the American dude was some professor rather than a student which made it a bit disturbing, but eventually Elio seemed to get "older" and I realized the American is pretty young, which stabilized it in my mind.

Saw Annihilation.  Thought it was really good, and it definitely deserves points for being unique/not following TOO many tropes (and I guess credit should go more to the book for this, though I read that the film departed from the novel in many ways).  This is hardly a spoiler, as the preview and first scene show a comet crashing into a lighthouse, but a good example is that we shouldn't assume an "alien" entity visiting Earth would embody ANY human instincts, including conquest.  It's pretty abstract and cool in that way.  It also succeeded in breeding tension the entire time; my girlfriend is not a horror movie watcher at all (not that I'd call Annihilation horror), and she was squirmin'.  I thought the ending was pretty bizarre, but it wasn't bad.

Overall, I approve.  I want to see it a second time before really cementing my opinion of it, though.

Not as great as I thought it'd be.

Saw Tomb Raider. As far as videogame movies are concerned, It's one of the best, and is a damn good movie in its own right.

I watched Rogue One of the first time last week. It's a good movie and not too heavy in Star Wars lore that a non-Star Wars addict can enjoy it.

I also watched Mississippi Burning in class yesterday. Very powerful film.

Just saw Seven Days in Entebbe. If I didn't know any better, I'd say it was early Oscar bait.

Why doesn’t she shoot him in the back when it’s just the two of them in the tent?!?!

Tomb Raider’s mine, to be clear.

Grew up an avid Tomb Raider player with my dad and own the newest game (but hardly ever get a chance to play).  Definitely going to see that one.

Just finished watching “Casino” with Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone. Really good movie. I’m sure the F word was said at least 150 times throughout the three hours. Had some graphic violence but not too much to make it unbearable. Highly recommend it.

I agree that there are some headscratcher moments, but I'm willing to give that a pass because you see them in every movie.

I saw it. It was good up until they got into the tomb, then it got boring. Also Daniel Wu needed a bigger role.

Eh, each to their own. As a Tomb Raider fan for years, I loved it.
