As a resident of the suburbs, it's funny when Democrats say "we need to appeal to the less-racist suburban voters"

Which group had massive swings against the racist pedophile? White educated suburbanites or the "white working class?"

Which group had massive swings against Ed Gillespie's race baiting campaign? White educated suburbanites or the "white working class?"

It's pretty clear why Bernie bros are so hostile to college educated suburbanites. They are not exactly a Sanders-friendly group and if they become part of the Democratic base then far-lefties like him become more or less as irrelevant as the Blue Dogs and the DLCers.
Of course to appeal to WWC the Democratic party must throw under the bus blacks, Hispanics, gays and women, but I have a hunch that this is a sacrifice Bernie cultists are very much willing to make.

Oh no, don't worry. The Blue Dogs and DLCers will be happy to throw minorities under the bus whenever it's convenient.

At least those "Berniebros" support policies that actually benefit POC instead of deadend centrists who say they want a "national conversation on race" and then do nothing for POC politically.

Yeah guys, let's not forget that single mothers are the real enemy Roll Eyes

I like how people on this thread are saying the democrats need to appeal to minorites instead of the WWC, implying that minorites are a monolith group who apparently are hyper focused on social issues and on those social issues they all possess extremely liberal beliefs.

It is the "WWC" that is obsessed with "social issues" like black people kneeling and transgender people taking a piss.

Yes but it's funny how the white liberals seem to think minorites are also obsessed with social issues as well, and that if they focus on these issues they will jack up turnout from this group, despite trying this in 2016 and completely failing.
@ me next time

Who actually tried this in 2016 (and before you respond, no, dabbing on Ellen and making "Yaaas, Hillary!" shirts is not "focusing on minority issues.")? We did try that in 2017, and the end result was a Democrat winning a Senate seat in Alabama, sooo...

RFKfan beat me to it:
Who said that? One, I am black. Two, I’m sure the posters here recognize black voters are just as concerned with education, healthcare, jobs, Social Security, National security, and infrastructure as any other group. What can’t be ignored is that our existence is inherently political and there are disparities in criminal justice and other institutions in this country that will disproportionately affect us because of our SOCIAL status. Issues that you think are being portrayed as “obsession” of social issues are the same issues that concern everyone else— but most blacks in this country don’t have the luxury of separating their race from said issues.

And yes if they focus on these issues they will do better if they actually do something about it when they get elected. They also need to allocate more funding to black candidates, black focus groups, organizations that focus on black civic participation, and a host of other initiatives. The Democrats need to stop treating black voters like a bastard child they don't want.

1)Blue Dogs and DLCers are no more.

2)If Saint Bernie really cares then he and his cultists should stop insulting them, trying to disenfranchise them, and criticizing the party he ostensibly supports for practicing "identity politics" (which is an evergreen Republican talking point).

The 2016 nominee was a DLC member.

Your side selectively uses identity politics. In 2016, it was we need to elect a woman President. In 2014, Hillary was robocalling for Cuomo in the primary to keep Albany controlled by 3 corrupt men in a room.

Again the POC youth overwhelmingly supported Sanders during the primary. Stop pigeonholding POC and erasing the existence of progressives among us.

Bernie isn't infallible, I've criticized him plenty of times and especially on the "identify politics" nonsense, however his policies would help us more than the empty platitudes of the DLCers. The same people who I personally witnessed using "mad black woman" tropes against Nina Turner.

COULD he? Yes. Will he? That really depends on whether he can capitalize on Racine/Kenosha/Janesville areas. We'll see.

Nina Turner isn’t hated b/c she’s a black woman, it’s b/c she’s two-bit con artist who can’t be trusted to be a team player and is about as principled as Donald Trump.  Also the DLC hasn’t been a thing since, what?  2004?  On a different note, the idea that it’s somehow a bad thing if white suburban voters are willing to support Democrats (see Virginia) b/c it doesn’t neatly fit the class warfare narrative the Sanders personality cult is trying to create is beyond idiotic.

I said they played off "mad black woman" tropes, I've seen her attacked because of her "attitude and temperament", similar attacks were made against Erica Garner. Seems centrist Dems only care about black women when they're taking their vote for granted.

Nina Turner is an idiot and an ingrate. In 2014 she had no problem asking for Bill and Hillary's endorsement and bringing them to Ohio to campaign for her, but two years later she trashes them and calls them "corporate sellouts".
She had no problem cozying up to the Democratic establishment as long as it helped her political advancement, but now she suddenly thinks that the party is corrupt and ineffective.
It's because of craven opportunists like her that people become so cynical about politics.

What you're doing is like saying it's homophobic to say a gay person who defrauds a charity is a crook.

She did support Hillary actually, then she flip flopped. What an unprincipled spineless sellout!

I voted for Sanders in the primary, spent six hours canvassing for his campaign, and donated $500 to his campaign.  What did you do to help his campaign in California other than whine on the internet?
