I didn't even say anything about Trump running for governor, and if you want to focus on state issues, don't bring up extramarital affairs.

Great interview with Geneviéve Jones-Wright, a Democrat and public defender running for San Diego DA. Comes off as very impressive.

Very hard to take an ad about sexual affairs from Republicans seriously considering who their president is.
I didn't realize that Trump was running for Governor of California. Seriously can we focus on state issues and not bring the President into everything. Catharine Baker my state assemblywoman has a Democrat opponent who says if elected she'll fight Trump's agenda. The state assembly has nothing to do with Congress and her Democrat opponent is campaigning like it does.

All politics is national now. Been that way since 1994.

My point is that it shouldn't be.

It looks like Newsom finally decided to attend another debate. The Silicon Valley Community Foundation and NBC Bay Area will host “Decision 2018: The Race for Governor,” a debate among candidates running for California governor, on May 8. The debate will be moderated by Chuck Todd, NBC News’ Political Director and Moderator of “Meet the Press.” It will be shown live on NBC Bay Area at 6:30 PM and other affiliates across the state. The top 6 candidates will be participating.

Excellent news!  What in particular drove you towards him?
He doesn't have the baggage of Newsom or Villaraigosa.

Any predictions for who gets the CA GOP endorsement, if anybody? LA Times:

I'm guessing that both hover around 50% and there's no endorsement. Probably the worst case scenario for the GOP is for Allen to get it, and for that to draw the candidates even in the polls.

Does Allen or Cox get 60% or not? Does Allen or Cox win Orange County? Does one of the top 3 Democrats (Newsom, Villaraigosa, or Chiang) win OC?, or is OC now an anti-establishment progressive stronghold that Eastin wins?

Its unclear we'll have to see, Cox and Allen would have a good chance of winning the county in the primary I predict Allen carries it narrowly due to his home county advantage. OC is very pro business so no eastin will likely get less than 1% in oc the other dems will due well there In a Newsom vs Villaraigosa runoff it would likely go to Villaraigosa.

CA GOP Convention just held their endorsement vote. Cox gets 55% to Allen's 41%, falling short of the 60% needed for a party endorsement

I don't think any action was taken on the Senate race. Here's the other endorsements:

Lt. Governor:  Cole Harris
Attorney General:  Steven Bailey
Secretary of State:  Mark Meuser
Controller:  Konstantinos Roditis

Roditis has no Republican opponent.

Democratic and Republican conventions both deadlocked. What impact will this have?
