I'm not going to even bother because the Myers-Briggs is total bullsh**t and has literally as much scientific basis as the Political Compass or Buzzfeed quizzes.

It's not scientific, but I'm not using it for science, so I don't see what the big deal is.  The MB personality types have various characteristics associated with them, and the INTP description happens to be a pretty good description of how my own brain works, so it seems useful as a shorthand description of me to offer to others who are familiar with MB types.  Not sure how the test "not being scientific" detracts from that.

I mean, let's suppose Myers-Briggs didn't exist, and I was trying to describe my personality to someone using my own words, without taking any personality test, and I (for example) said that I was introverted.  Would you object by saying "you shouldn't say that, because you haven't tested yourself scientifically"?  Of course not, beause that would be dumb.  So I'm not sure how using "INTP" as a shorthand for my personality is any more objectionable.

No.  I'm pretty sure he might say that.

INFP. I generally get over 90% I, and around 80-90% N and P, and 60-something% F.

Also Mr. Morden hits the nail on the head.

ESTP (as of the last time I took it, a while ago) but I think it's a complete load of crap.

I - 53% (I'm outgoing and generally like being around people but also need my alone time)
N - 63%
T - 63%
J - 68%

Also assigned the additive of T for turbulent (63%).

Apparently people other INTJs include: Presidents Kennedy (Purple heart), Gore, and Hillary Clinton; Elon Musk; possible future President Michelle Obama; should-have-been-Presidents Michael Dukakis and Colin Powell; and Vladimirs Lenin and Putin. Also, somewhat amusingly, both Karl Marx and Ayn Rand were supposedly INTJs.

(not that I believe this is remotely scientific, or that these people can be definitively assigned a Myers-Briggs type).

The way I approach these tests is that they are not scientific, but they are fun and cute. I agree with this:

The group as a whole is very IN and also very INTP (at 44 votes, so this isn't necessarily reflective of everyone)

IN = 59%

I = 70%
N= 77%
T= 81%
P= 75%

INTJ

75% I
55% N
67% T
79% J

     I agree. It's not the most rigorous system of describing personality ever conceived, but the people who attack it like to characterize it as being more arbitrary than it actually is. I could take the test every day for the rest of my life and I would never get ENFP. The folks who get INTJ tend to be fundamentally different from the folks who get ENFP in important ways.

     You won't be doing any rigorous psychological studies using it, but for what it is it can be pretty useful. I have found some kindred spirits on this site and elsewhere who I would not have found except on account of Myers-Briggs. For that alone it has significant value and meaning to me.

I'm curious as to what you're referring to here.  How did Myers-Briggs itself allow you to connect with other people?  Some kind of M-B friend finder?
