Will happen tomorrow.

Probably the biggest fu**up of an election I have ever seen (besides NC-09).

Doesn't the government really only have control over Kinshasa and not much else of the country, with the rest being under warlords?

In any case, I guess that's African politics for the most part. (of course there are also exceptions thankfully)

They are going with EVM for the first time which has led to a lot of opposition claims of possible fraud.  The election was suppose to be a week ago but was postponed by a suspicious fire in capital Kinshasa where a bunch of these EVM were destroyed.  In rural areas I think the EVM are not even there or does not work so I am not sure how the election will work those areas.

It has control over nearly all of the territory. The election is postponed in a few areas where that isn't the case.

Internet, SMS, and more importantly Radio France have been shut off during the counting process. Results announced on Sunday, but I doubt this once-failed state will change.

If the former government doesn’t step down, a revolution is imminent. Even the Catholic Church is over impartiality in this election.

Looks like Kabila & Co. are using the Venezuela playbook ...

It's pretty obvious that the opposition candidates have received 50%+, but the government will fix it so that Kabila's successor will somehow be announced the "winner" tomorrow with 50.9% or something ...

I wonder if this whole thing lasts longer than the rigged Honduras election. It took a whole month to get a .05% difference by ballot-stuffing.

Results delayed further. The Church who had an overwhelming number of observers says there is conclusive evidence that opposition Candidate Fayulu has won.

An opposition leader broke through camp lines to get himself a good deal.

Despicable that the people may not get their choices heard. Seems like a revolt is the only way to save the DRC from these corrupt pieces of ****
